About Us
Long Haul Media provides research and writing services, information and educational products across a broad spectrum of subject areas .
Long Haul Media's lead strategic communications consultant/writer and editor, Catherine Morrison, has been a journalist and writer/editor-for-hire since 1979, when she went to work for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s national network television as a writer.
She has subsequently written for a variety of mainstream and niche publications and a wide variety of clients, on a diverse range of subjects, including health and social services, consumer issues, the arts, the environment, technology foresight, aboriginal issues, food safety and gender socialization.
She was an "early adopter" of electronic media platforms, and as far back as the 2000-2001, was a contributing columnist to the online edition of the Globe and Mail on the subject of Women and Technology.
History
Long Haul Media grew out of a twenty-year-old strategic communications business, and much longer writing career, both of which fell into hiatus during the lengthy illness and subsequent passing of Catherine's husband of 31 years. Eventually realizing that there was a lot of life left to be lived, she decided to re-launch her business with a focus on the uncharted territory of greatly extended longevity. She continues to offer strategic communications advice and product development, as well research, writing and editing - all in a variety of subject areas.
